- MaceDenis Kelley Jun 10, 2011 at 01:50pmHave to say I wish Sony did a little better. I have PS3 and had two of the games on the list already. Downloaded the space one and the zombie one, and they were garbage. Groove music won t play. I'm much happier with the credit monitoring though.
- HabaneroJohn6020 Jun 13, 2011 at 08:41amNot for me, but I know some youngsters who might be pleased. Ta!
- CayenneMadworldz Jun 14, 2011 at 08:35amI really liked dead nation! then again ive allways loved games that are just like that. I also downloaded little big planet which i once owned befor but sold. I would also advise Super startdust HD its a simple arcane game but its prettty damn intense.
- DatilGerardMainardi Jun 21, 2011 at 08:12amI actually liked Super Stardust HD.Thanks for this writeup, I was having trouble!
Let’s face it: If you own a PS3 and have played a few games, then you might have had some trouble with that strong boss at the end of one game or perhaps you’ve already beaten it, but still can’t manage to find all the items and secret levels that you hoped for.
If that is the case then you can always “cheat” a little bit by using someone else’s PS3 Save files, allowing you to gain all their upgrades and high scores effortlessly.
Here’s how to do it:
Note: Also, take a look at our other PS3 tutorials, where we show you how to install custom themes and change your PS3 wallpaper without a computer.Locating Your PS3 Save File
Step 1: Perform a web search for the term PS3 Game Save Downloads or something similar. Choose a website from among the results.
Step 2: On the site you choose, search for the game you want to download a Save file for. Select one from all the available ones and download it to your computer.
Once you do, locate the file and unzip it. When you do, you will see a folder that is named something similar to the one below and that has several files with uncommon extensions inside. Leave the folder as it is for now.
Getting Your USB Drive Ready
Step 3: Plug a USB drive into your computer and open it. Inside, create a folder named PS3 (all caps) and within that folder create another one named SAVEDATA (again all caps).
Important Note: In order for your USB drive to work with your PS3, it needs to be in the FAT32 format.Getting Your Save File Onto Your PS3
Step 4: Once your USB drive is ready, copy the Save file you downloaded from the web and paste it inside the SAVEDATA folder. Then unplug the USB from your computer, turn on your PS3 and plug the USB drive to your PS3.
Step 5: On your PS3 go to the Game menu and scroll down until you find the Saved Data Utility option. Select it and then find and choose the USB Device (Storage Media) option as well.
Step 6: Inside, you will find your shinny Save file waiting to be copied to your PS3 before you can use it. To do so, press the Triangle button to display the file options and select Copy.
The file will then be copied to your PS3 without problems and will be ready for you to use the next time you start your game.
Note: If you have played the game before, then a Save file for it will have already been created. In this case you will be given the option of overwriting the file or not, since there is no way to have the two files on your PS3 at the same time. And there you go. A quite simple method to to literally get you “ahead of the game” with that PS3 game you really want to master.

Whether it is by CD, DVD or Blu-Ray, video games have been supplied to the consumer masses on discs for years. The latest trend, which can be seen in Sony’s PlayStation 3, attempts to do away with some of these discs by making certain titles available for download. Games which were once available only on discs can now be purchased and downloaded instantly using your PlayStation 3 console and a high-speed Internet connection.
To download a disc-based game from the PlayStation Network, you must first log into your PlayStation account and access the PlayStation Store. This can be done by selecting “PlayStation Store” under the “PlayStation Network” tab on your PlayStation 3’s XMB.
How To Download Games
Select “Games” from the column on the left. Here you can browse the different categories and select a game to purchase and download. Not all of the games you’ll see here are disc-based games, however. To narrow down the selection to show only games that were once available on disc, you’ll need to select “PS one Classics for PS3 / PSP.”
You’ll now be browsing the “PS one Classics for PS3 PSP” area of the PlayStation Store. All of the games featured in this section were, at one time or another, available on disc for the original PlayStation console.
Once you’ve found a title that you like, select it with the “X” button and choose “Buy Now.” If you want to continue shopping before making your purchase and downloading your game, choose “Add To Cart” to add the title to your shopping cart for a later checkout. Next you’ll need to choose a method of payment. These classic disc-based games can be purchased using either a prepaid PlayStation Network card or any major credit or debit card.
After purchasing your game you’ll need to download and install it. Your download will begin automatically after purchase; you can begin the installation process by selecting your new game from the “Game” tab on your PlayStation 3’s XMB. Once the installation is complete, you can play your game at any time simply by selecting it from the “Game” tab and pressing the “X” button to launch it.
To save your classic PS1 games you’ll need to make a virtual memory card on your PlayStation 3 console. This can be done by selecting “Memory Card Utility (PS/PS2)” under the “Game” tab on your PlayStation 3’s XMB and following the on-screen instructions to create a new internal memory card.
